UCL does not publish a hard threshold. The typical successful applicant lands 5.0+ on the new 1.0 to 7.0 scale. The competitive band sits around 6.0+. Above 6.5 the file moves up the ranked pool meaningfully. Below 5.0 the file becomes meaningfully harder.

Is the A*A*A offer realistic?

Less generous than UCL applicants sometimes assume. Standard offer is A*A*A with A*A* in Maths and Further Maths, plus STEP grade 2 in Paper 2 or AEA Distinction. The 40% offer rate is at offer stage; the STEP component is what knocks the conversion rate down to about 8.5%.
